General Discussion / The Hygroelectricity of the team

Since then and for many years, "ˇViva Arévalo!" it became a cry of resistance, of repudiation of the military governments launched under the cover of night and in the heat of popular festivals. 79 years after the October Revolution and 60 years after the military coup, the cry of "Long live Arévalo!" is heard again in Guatemala. Once the results of the elections were made official on July 11, the Semilla Movement decided to start the electoral campaign for the second round and not focus exclusively on legal issues, which are handled by a specific team.

On July 14 and 15, Bernardo Arévalo and his vice-presidential candidate, Karin Herrera, visited the cities of Quetzaltenango and Totonicapán. The Phone Number List was tremendous: thousands of people poured into the streets to see, photograph and listen to the candidates. Thus, in less than two months, the Semilla Movement went from carrying out modest campaign events, in which face-to-face contact and direct dialogue with citizens prevailed, to massive events in which Arévalo calls for the defense of democracy, the rescue of the State and the fight against corruption.

In these weeks there has been a process of interaction and feedback. The citizen support of June 25 provoked a response from Semilla and his candidates to the height of the circumstances and their commitment not to fail the people. And the responsibility, firmness and commitment with which Arévalo and Herrera have faced the offensive of the "corrupt pact" have in turn strengthened the support of the population. However, the road to August 20 remains long and risky.
